ICFC board member wins the Future For Nature Award 2025
June 3, 2025 -- ICFC board member Ruthmery Pillco Huarcaya has been awarded the Future For Nature Award for 2025—important recognition for young leaders in conservation. The international award recognizes her conservation work to protect Andean bears (Tremarctos ornatus), the northern pudú or dwarf deer (Pudu mephistophiles), and the integration of Andean traditional knowledge into conservation practice, at Wayqecha Cloud Forest Biological Station, in the Peruvian Andes. Ruthmery was selected from more than 300 international candidates in a ceremony held on Friday, May 16 at the Royal Burgers' Zoo in Arnhem, The Netherlands. See her profile as our Featured Field Partner in ICFC's 2023 annual report.
